We aspire to have a unified global blogosphere but local interactions in offline events.
World Bloggers’ Day is an event that will reach out to bloggers from every corner of the Earth and celebrate the wonders of the blogosphere — from the bloggers to the blogs.
The increasing influence of bloggers in the different forms of media, in the business sector and in political arenas — something we need to celebrate while thinking how a blog turned out from being a weblog.
When was the 1st World Bloggers’ Day?
It would be difficult to pinpoint the exact date when the first blogger maneuvered and owned a blog. After a span of two decades since the inception of the Internet and websites, blogging has grown tremendously and bloggers have become increasingly influential.
Although blogging has become global in a reality sense, the celebration of the first World Bloggers’ day occurred in May 2, 2010.
Can anyone join the World Bloggers’ Day?
If you are a blogger and own a blog, wherever you are from the corners of the Earth, you can join on this blogging celebration by registering your blog here. You don’t need to buy a ticket and fly to Cebu to join other Cebu Bloggers or be in the loop with the Sydney bloggers and attend the Sydney Bloggers Festival. You can celebrate among the local bloggers and initiate a blogging event in your community.

I want to join, do I need to sign-up?
Yes. You need to register your blog here so that it will be listed on this website and you can grab the official World Bloggers’ Day badge after.
However, if you belong to a local blogging organization, inform your blogging head about World Bloggers’ Day and convince him or her to join us.
World Bloggers Day 2011 happens on May 2, 2011 and if you wish to be a partner, you should do it 10 days before the actual World Bloggers’ Day event.
10 days may be enough for your local blogging community to initiate a small gathering in which you can connect with other bloggers worldwide via Skype or other tools online.
Is there a process for a blogging organization to join World Bloggers’ Day?

Do I or my blogging community have to seek for sponsors to join this event?
You may or you may not to.
However, if you wish to have a sponsor to help you a fund a local World Bloggers’ Day event, your sponsor or sponsors can benefit from global exposure — from press releases, inclusion in the WBD website and the blogs of those who join the World Bloggers’ Day 2011.
Is World Bloggers’ Day connected with a company?
World Bloggers’ Day is founded by the Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit corporation registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Philippines.
The World Bloggers’ Day website is owned by Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. Members of the blogging organization provide monetary, intellectual, and technical contributions to make this event possible.
